Upcoming Events

            With the holidays fast approaching, the Methodist Women’s group is planning outreach, fund-raising, and fellowship activities in which everyone can get involved. For our fall fund-raiser, an auction and “Pumpkin Everything” meal is set for Saturday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m.  All funds raised will go to the Outreach Fund.  Our past auctions have always been great fun, so please join us for this one, and think about items you would like to donate.  See Missy Sperry for more details.

         We have several members of our congregation living at Resthaven, along with many friends we all know there, and we will be preparing Thanksgiving gifts for the residents next month.  Some of the money raised at the auction will be used to purchase the gift items.  In addition, we are asking for volunteers to visit Resthaven on a weekly basis.  The goal is four teams.  If you would like to participate, please see Mary Alderman, Julie Durrance or Pastor Amy.

         Beginning early next year, our church will be doing a Wednesday night hymn sign and devotional time at Resthaven.  This will be once per quarter.  Everyone is encouraged to join us there-- it will be a wonderful time of fellowship and blessings for all!

         As Christmas approaches, once again we will sponsor the Rudolph Roundup toy drive for local foster children.  This year the drive will be for children 13-17 years of age. More information will be available next month.

         On Dec. 6, a ladies’ day out to The Barn is planned.  This is a fun place to do some Christmas shopping, antiquing, and just spend time with friends.  All ladies are invited and encouraged to bring a friend!

         Planning for future activities includes a possible Christmas concert by Katherine Polk and friends, and the Women’s Retreat in Leesburg early next year. 

         Watch the bulletin for details on all these events, and mark your calendars.  The holiday season is a time for gathering, celebrating and sharing God’s love with everyone!  Please be in prayer for our outreach ministries, and join us in serving others.  Let your light shine!
